i went to a party the other night,
it didn't last long
i didn't drink at all and i faked a call,
when a conversation went wrong
i felt chained to the sofa
when everybody else was smoking in the garage
so i left my post when nobody noticed
and skated off into the night

skinny waist, defined jaw
wake up in the morning in a push up bra

one day ill wake up
stamped in somebody's makeup
tired and hungover

wired in a downtown diner
drinking coffee in the middle of the night
how long does it take to be a regular
when you cant hold conversation
then some old friends recognize me
they talk and they invite me out
they dont mention my dress, my hair in distress
no nothing, just me
one day ill wake up
stamped in somebodys makeup
tired and hungover

they see a man trying not to swear on live TV

I originally found nomie through Love is Zero back in what feels like a different lifetime. Many years later this album is still as crisp as it ever was, even if you DON'T have any strong feelings about its songs apparent role in you finding your groove.
